Tom Daley Is the King of the World at the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony

Tom Daley is flying, Jack, he’s flying!
The British Olympic diver had one of the best entrances into the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony July 26 as Team Great Britain made its way down the Seine in a boat.
After all, Tom and British rower Helen Glover, who were their country’s flag bearers, acknowledged the nautical entrance by posing at the edge of the boat to recreate Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s iconic romance scene as well as the “I’m the king of the world” scene from Titanic.
Of course, in the iconic moment from the 1997 film, Leonardo’s Jack takes Kate’s Rose to the front edge of the boat and has her put her arms out as it glides through the water and—in a move that Tom and Helen recreated—Jack puts his arms around Kate’s waist and has her close her eyes and extend her arms out to each side.
Tom and Helen’s bit had Tom play Rose, with Helen behind him as Jack. The moment is even more special to eagle-eyed Titanic fans, as it happened just ahead of Céline Dion’s highly-anticipated rumored performance at the Opening Ceremony. The 56-year-old famously sings the beloved “My Heart Will Go On” song from the film.
In addition to his perfect Opening Ceremony entrance, Tom—who holds one gold medal and three bronze medals in Olympic diving events—has been giving his fans the exact content they want during his stay in Paris for the 2024 Olympics. The 30-year-old gave a personal review to the Olympics’ viral “anti-sex” cardboard beds on TikTok earlier this week.
After giving a tour of his bed, showing off the headboard and mattress, Tom included a clip of himself jumping erratically on the bed.
“As you can see,” he noted as he jumped. “They’re pretty sturdy!”
